A Table Grace

O THOU WHO CLOTHEST THE LILIES

AND FEEDEST THE BIRDS OF THE SKY

WHO LEADEST THE LAMBS TO THE PASTURE

AND THE HART TO THE WATERSIDE

WHO HAST MULTIPLIED LOAVES AND FISH

AND CONVERTED WATER INTO WINE

DO THOU COME TO OUR TABLE

AS GUEST AND GIVER TO DINE

Richard Euringer, Poet                   Mignon McMenamy, Translator

I said this as a kid as far back as I can remember. My mom even illustrated it as artwork in the dining room. Thanks for bringing back a wonderful childhood memory.

I am shaken to the core to learn that the German author of this table grace was a prominent Nazi supporter.

This was my aunt’s favorite table grace and after her death, I found linen unworked handwork of this when cleaning out her closet. I worked it and framed it. She had ordered the kit from St. Leo’s Shop in Rhode Island. I would like to order the kit for my friend, but St. Leo’s Shop is no longer in existence. Would you have any idea where I might find it?
